The Myth
And then the Nether Ones came, who are called the Fomori. Chaos ensued. Madness broke upon the People. Fear and anguish, rage and obsession, thirst for blood and taste for flesh. They fell upon themselves, destroying themselves, consuming themselves, and nothing could undo their insanity.
But the Fomori were pursued, found by the God-People, who were called the Tuathe De. It is they who joined battle against the Demons, and they who would return peace again to the People. But the Tuathe De were weakened from the chase, an endless pursuit across the stars to end the madness of the Fomori.
Among the Fomori was a great champion, a king and a god: Balor of the Evil Eye. From him eschewed madness that could not be broken. The Tuathe De battled against him and his kin but could only defeat him by defeating themselves. And so, they were each of them cast into the sky. Yet the evil of Balor's Eye remains and when it casts its crimson light upon the People, madness follows.
