Can I Build A Starter House In Infdev? - Minecraft Zen Adventures
3⛏ ️ What’s going on, miners and crafters? Welcome back to Minecraft Zen Adventures, the series where we take a journey through time, starting from the earliest playable version of Minecraft and updating with every episode!
Today, we’ve moved forward to Infdev 20100624, bringing some surprising changes to the game! Minecraft is slowly evolving, but it’s still missing so many of the features we take for granted today.
🌟 What’s New in This Version?
🔹 Clouds Are No Longer Fluffy – The iconic blocky clouds we know today have replaced the soft, rounded ones!
🔹 Sheep Now Drop White Wool – Previously, sheep dropped gray wool by default, but this update changed that forever.
🔹 F6 Debug Mode – We now have a built-in Lagometer to see performance drops. Not exactly an FPS counter, but still a cool addition!
🔹 Half Slabs Exist… But Are Really Weird – They work, but not how you’d expect! Stacking them isn’t as intuitive as modern Minecraft.
🔹 Bow Machine Gun Exploit – There’s no durability on bows yet, meaning we can rapid-fire arrows with hilarious results!
🏠 The Challenge: Building a Starter House… Without Stairs?!
In this episode, I take on a classic survival challenge—building a functional and aesthetic starter house in Infdev. The problem? There are no stairs yet!
This means:
🪵 No easy roof designs – We have to get creative using full blocks and slabs.
🔦 No light sources inside the house – Torches exist, but we have to be strategic about placement!
⚔ ️ Defending against mobs while building – With limited materials and no armor, this is a real survival challenge!
Despite these limitations, I manage to construct a solid home using wood, cobblestone, and some old-school tricks. But just as the sun sets… things get real interesting.
☠ ️ The Infdev Survival Experience
🌙 The First Night Struggle – Darkness comes fast, and I’m completely unprepared for battle.
💀 Creepers, Skeletons, and Spiders, Oh My! – Mobs are everywhere, and they behave a little differently than they do now.
🌊 Items Sink in Water – Unlike modern Minecraft, dropped items don’t float—they sink, making retrieval trickier!
🏹 The Broken Bow Trick – Bows have no durability, so you can fire arrows as fast as you can click. Ultimate power, but also a bit janky!
And of course, I die. A lot. But that’s just part of the early Minecraft experience, right?
