♫Canterbury Plains Theme (TOP GEAR 2) New SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is an arrangement of Patrick Phelan's theme, played during the Canterbury Plains race, from Kemco's 1993 SNES game Top Gear 2. I have arranged it for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES.
The game was released originally for the SNES, and later put over to the Genesis, Amiga, and the Amiga CD32. Each version had a different take on the soundtrack, and they were all pretty good.
I hedged closer to the Amiga and Genesis versions of the song than the original SNES mix with this cover, though. I thought it would be fun to style it a bit more like the Lotus tracks (but without the breathing and the Ferris Buehler sounds), since the Top Gear series is a spin-off of that legendary series. And really, is it even possible to not love a Lotus soundtrack?
Thanks for listening!

I've also done an NES version of the first race theme from the original Top Gear, if that's of any interest: https://youtu.be/H9ne7oOSOUk
