CAPCOM REMOVES RAY TRACING FROM RESIDENT EVIL 2, 3 REMAKE & RESIDENT EVIL 7
Capcom has removed ray tracing from the PC versions of Resident Evil 2, 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7. Fans have expressed their disappointment on Steam, reporting that the games no longer support ray tracing, and some claim that HDR is broken. It is unclear why Capcom would remove ray tracing, and fans speculate that it may have been unintentional. Some suggest that the game may have switched back to DirectX11, which does not support features like ray tracing and 3D audio. Capcom has also recently announced that they will be ending technical support for the non-ray traced versions of these games, indicating that they will only support Direct X12 versions moving forward.
