Capcom reveal Resident Evil Village won’t feature decapitations in Japan
Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Village in Japan will not have decapitations, in accordance with rules set by the national ratings board CERO.
In a statement on the Japanese Capcom support page, they confirm that two versions of RE: Village will release in Japan. One being a CEROZ version that cannot be purchased by under-18s and will be more explicit, whereas the CEROD version cannot be purchased by under -17s and will be less graphic. However, both versions will lack decapitations and some scenes that CERO prohibits are removed.
Capcom also note that there “is no difference in the game content from the overseas version”, other than the footage of heads being decapitated.
