In episode 8, as we keep mining every system to exhaustion, we are running out of systems in the local cluster, and we have to venture further and further to find a cluster with resources we actually want... ...

For the purpose of this playthrough, I am using "traveler" difficulty (i.e. easy), with 7 reactors max, so I can build a fairly large ship.
