This is something I've wanted to try for literally years, is there a way to capture the signal that's sent to a CRT television so that you play a lightgun game and capture the footage from it.

Yes as it turns out. The way I did it, Scart cable from the Saturn in to a Scart Switcher. Then used a Split Scart cable so I could output the same signal to 2 places. One of those goes in to the CRT television, so the lightgun works, the other one goes in to a Scart to HDMI converter, which then goes in to my capture kit, in to the pc. Done. Simple
