Patriarch Junius Diamant stands trial. Or he would have if the schism between the Old and New Faiths wouldn't have destroyed the country. So the Inquisition decides to back down.
Randolph says goodbye to the capital but is greeted with the awesome news that Octavia Milanides returns to her home province of Magra as well.
Before he leaves, he purchases a sword for Stephan. Hopefully, that will appease the 'true noble' of the family.
Anizotte has become a place of political strife though, with the appointment of a Tempest as the head of the province. All this leads to commoners and nobles choosing sides.
This will become apparent quite soon in the judge's trade as well. Sir El Borne, Randolph's mentor and friend of the Brante family, strives for a more equal application of the law.
The Milanides dynasty does not approve.
At home, the situation is not very pleasant either. Stephan and Gloria are constantly fighting. It gets to a point where Father brings all the children together for a tough talk.
On our first day at the Prefecture, we meet Carlo the pimp judge and spend most of the day just chilling with Father.
A reception at the Brante mansion lets us regale the local nobles with stories of our tournament win, scoring some much-needed respect for the family.
But rumors are launched nonetheless. Will the Brante family survive them?
