How To Kill The Spider Swarm In Pathfinder Kingmaker - 3 Easy Methods Revealed!

In today’s video I’m going to show you several ways how to kill the spider swarm.
If you are wondering what level you need to be to fight the spider swarm and have a decent success chance, … well, I have some bad news for you. You will encounter the spider swarm very early on in the game. It’s one of the first quests you’ll receive after helping to defend Oleg’s Trading Post. So 2nd level it is!
Now, why is this encounter so difficult? Why are you unable to hit the spider swarm? Well, it’s immune to mind-affecting effects, compulsion, precision damage, physical damage from a weapon, and all sorts of combat maneuvers.
The solution: alchemist fire or acid
Purchase around 10 vials of alchemist fire from Bokken prior to heading to Fangberry Cave. If Bokken died and you can’t purchase these potions, avoid this location for a while.
Have the Character with the highest dexterity modifier equip the vials and have them stay back.
In the first method, you’ll just tank the damage with your frontline fighters like Valerie, Amiri, or Jaethal. Equip your frontline with healing potions so they can heal up when needed. And then just throw the vials of acid or alchemist fire from the back until the spider swarm is dead.
The second method works if you have a mage character that has the Grease spell. You just cast Grease, and if the spider swarm fails its saving throw, it gets stuck in the grease for a bit and you can pick it off with alchemist fire from a distance.
The third method works if you play a druid character or have turned Harrim into a druid as I did here. Druids have access to the Entangle spell which slows down the spider swarm enough that you can finish them off, again with alchemist fire or acid.
Just make sure to bring enough alchemist fire! While I was going through this encounter several times for this recording, in one instance, even with 16 alchemist fire vials, I was still not able to kill the spider swarms in Fangberry Cave.
But if the dice are against you, there’s always the reload button!
