Castlevania Aria of Sorrow! When Passion Eclipses Limitation - Hard Mode (Part 1 of 2)
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow was super hyped up for me and did not disappoint. It's the result of everything Konami has learned from the previous titles on the GBA. Interestingly, the story is set in the future. A high school exchange student named Soma studying abroad in Japan get's transported during an eclipse to Dracula's castle. The characters and artwork are amazing for this platform. The heart system has been dropped in exchange for the soul set system. Every single enemy you encounter has the chance to drop a soul allowing you to obtain an original ability. This can range from a simple attack to more complicated passives and utility. It's a very addictive system that makes you want to mix, match and experiment. The map design is excellent with plenty of bosses and teleporters to help you explore. Tons of different weapons to use and even a useful shop to spend your money on. The music is excellent too. It doesn't take long to realize how amazing this game is and honestly I think it's better than SOTN. It's an absolute must play. This is part 1 of our playthrough.
