Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - Pure Luck Run x25 (No Thief Rings/Ebisu), Chapter 5 (Hard)
Another area people debate my previous videos is that they think the Ebisu and Thief Ring Rare Item Property is what really drops rare items, and that luck has no effect whatsoever.
To see if this is the case, I ran Chapter Five 25 times. (I changed what robe I was using throughout the chapters, between the Benten, Bishamon, and Daikaku, but they all have the same luck value). 39 Luck, no Ebisu Raiment, nor any Thief Rings. I chose Chapter 5 as it's pretty short and has a fair amount of rare items.
The first video is the exact route I took every time. For a control, I tried to keep it as close to the original run as possible (didn't open any excess chests, nor kill any excess enemies unless I absolutely had too, etc).
1x Truffle
1x Death Scythe
3x Death's Robe
2x Ancient Armor
1x Beserker Mail
3x Death Soul
I'm not going to lie. These 25 were a little more profitable than typical (even with high luck & ebisu&thief rings). I've noticed I barely ever see a truffle with super high luck & thief/ebisu, so I've been lowering my luck to get food items. So take the above as a statistical anomaly as far as drop rates without thief rings & ebisu. But at least this should prove that rare items will drop with luck, and luck alone.
