Simon's Quest is the sequel to the original Castlevania, although it has a different take in game play than the first game. CV1 is more about platforming, linear progression, and level design whereas CV2 is more about open area exploration although the speedrun is very linear in the glitchless category. The run itself has some variation in terms of marathons due to the finicky nature of heart drop luck, there are 3 possible routes to take depending on heart luck.
