I've decided to play this again, I missed it. And this time, I want to do a max stat save file, which requires a lot of quit games and loading quick saves. Anyway, for those who don't know yet or are new to the game. When your sword card familiar reaches level 50, it will leave the room. Upon checking your familiars, it unequipped itself. Check your main inventory and a new sword (Sword Familiar) will be in your possession. (FYI: You can't equip the weapon and familiar at the same time.) Your sword familiar will also look different. Level it up some more and it will start to glow. Yay!
