Explore a new and exciting world as a cat and a rabbit. In the style of cave story and other action platforming games, Cat Story is an atmospheric game with incredible music. In this video Anomulus0 brings you the gameplay from the cat story demo provided in the kickstarter page.
From the kickstarter:
“Cat Story is an interactive platforming video game that follows the adventures of a cat and a rabbit trying to get home! Run, jump, climb, bounce, claw, and shoot your way through a huge, immersive world filled with traps, ziplines, puzzles, teleporters, and deadly enemies! Meet new friends, unlock hidden areas, learn skills and abilities, and uncover the secrets of a dark corporation as you explore the depths of the Cascadian Caverns with your sidekick and best friend! Adventure awaits!
Delivering vibrant pixel art and retro-platformer gameplay inspired by titles like Donkey Kong Country, Cave Story, and Ori and the Blind Forest, Cat Story focuses on interaction, exploration, and fast-paced, challenging platforming. Written in C++ and built on the SDL2 framework, the game runs at a solid 60 FPS, with releases planned for Windows, Mac, and Linux!
This game's engine is written almost entirely from scratch, and comes with support for creating your own maps and scripts to add your own content to the game! We've done our best to set up game assets to be as mod-friendly as possible, with proper documentation for the level, sprite, and script file formats, as well as the creation of a simple level editor written in C#. The goal of all of this mod-friendliness is to make the game's universe more accessible to the community so that when we move on to other projects, we're able to put the community in charge of continued development of the game's canon storyline and direction!”
