CATAN: Why I Used to HATE This Board Game, and What Changed My Mind
When I first discovered The Settlers of Catan in the 1990s, I had high hopes for an amazing game. But I quickly grew to HATE Catan. It sat on my shelf for about 20 years before I gave it another chance. Now, my relationship with the game has changed. Find out why in this video.
As a person who got into board games with Avalon Hill, Axis and Allies, and countless other classics back in the 1980s, I was excited to hear about the game that was taking the world by storm. I was in University when it was gaining popularity, and though I was a year or two late getting into the game, hearing about how good it was, I bought not only the base game, but also the 5-6 player expansion, without ever playing it. That was my first mistake.
