pear potion is a cute 2d action game with some fairly simple gameplay but also some fairly challenging boss battles (especially if you haven't upgraded your wands!). ^^

It's a relatively short game (even if you're going for 100%!), but does have plenty of secrets hidden about the map (note: the game doesn't let you reload from your last save, once you've gotten the ending, so if you're interested in secrets, make sure to search for them before completing the game!)... as well as a lot of cute NPC interactions. =)

Anyway, I picked up pear potion sometime in July, played through it almost immediately, and personally, I rather enjoyed the game. ^_^ So of course, I ended up spending quite a bit of extra time trying for achievements and exploring for secrets. =)

"fast fruit" was perhaps one of the tougher achievements to get, in that it required a good amount of prep work (figuring out the minimal requirements and an efficient path to use!).

However, something extremely useful I discovered while testing things... is that the "save" cauldrons are actually "respawn" cauldrons, in that they don't save-and-restore your current state... but rather, simply set a respawn point. So if your character dies (or you quit to the title screen), any progress you've made (money and items collected, bosses defeated, etc) will be kept, and won't actually be reverted back to when you touched the cauldron! =)

While not absolutely necessary for "fast fruit", this definitely makes things a lot easier: I originally unlocked "fast fruit" without using cauldron respawns, and ended up with a completion time around seven and a half minutes... but as you can see from this video, using the cauldrons can make the completion time significantly faster. =)

Cavalcadence Milestone: 100 Mary videos!

So... perhaps it's unsurprising to anyone who's been here for a while that Mary ended up becoming the first non-Aubergine character with 100 videos on this channel... but back when Mary was first introduced to Crypt of the NecroDancer (Amplified)... I never would've imagined that she'd so quickly become my favorite CotND character. ^.^

The more I played Mary, the more I realized she wasn't just a "gimmick" character, and that she was actually really well-balanced against the challenges of the Crypt! Playing through All Zones Mode is definitely more difficult with Mary than with Cadence... but not in a way that's inherently less fair. ^_^

And while there was definitely a bit of a learning curve... once I got used to her playstyle, I actually found playing Mary to be a lot of fun. And so, 100 videos later... here we are. Wow. =)

So anyway... once again, thank you to all of you, whether you've been here for a while, or only recently found your way here. It's always nice, when posting videos of games that I enjoy, to see that some of you seem to be enjoying them as well. So... thank you!
