The work unfolds through a dual narrative arc, telling the story of the Qing Dynasty's Southern King (Prince) and a modern-day university student, Gao Ying. Through the suspenseful setting of the "Qing Dynasty Hotel" in Nanting Village, the film unfolds a time-traveling adventure, blending Chinese horror aesthetics with nonsensical comedy elements.

The Modern Dimension: chronicles the bizarre experiences of university student Gao Ying at the Nanting Village hotel. The two plotlines interweave through Chinese metaphysical elements such as "Tai Sui meat" and the "Five Degenerations of the Celestial Being," ultimately converging in time and space at the final battle scene of Kowloon Walled City.

作者墨飞毕业于广州美术学院雕塑系，由于 长期住在广州大学城谷围南亭村(广州美术学院同一个区)，于2018年开始连载《谷围南亭》，通过风水秘术与悬疑叙事构建跨时空世界观。该漫画在2018年创新采用纵向分镜形式，作者墨飞因创新条漫表现形式被誉为'条漫鬼才'。
The author Mo Fei graduated from the Sculpture Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (The director of Scissor Seven also graduated from this college). As he has lived in Guwei Nanting Village in Guangzhou University Town (the same district as Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts) for a long time, he began serializing "Guwei Nanting" in 2018, constructing a worldview across time and space through Feng Shui secrets and suspenseful narratives.
The comic innovatively adopted the vertical storyboard format in 2018, and the author Mo Fei was hailed as a "strip comic genius" for his innovative strip comic expression format.
高影生活的现代城市日常，主要基于广州大学城谷围南亭村构建，包括广州美术学院，地铁站，广州怪谈荔湾广场等，融合了早期港片的僵尸恐怖片与港式无厘头搞笑，以及大量中式民俗鬼故事都市传说怪谈。
The protagonist Gao Ying's modern urban life is mainly based on the Nanting Village in Guwei, Guangzhou University Town,
including the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, the subway station, Guangzhou Urban-folktales Ghost Story Liwan Square, etc.
It combines the zombie horror movies oor 1960-1990 Hong Kong ghost movies with Hong Kong-style nonsensical comedy, as well as a large number of Chinese folk ghost stories, urban legends and stories.
