CCG Capture The Flag E1: I! Hate! 1! Point! Nine! P! V! P!
So could someone at Mojang please explain why they thought it was absolutely necessary to introduce a game mechanic where it is completely impossible to advance against an archer in a 1v1 fight? It's a freaking bow, not a fully automatic rifle!
Required excuses over, here's 20 minutes of be being constantly pinned down in hopes that someone on my team is able to take on that archer while they're not moving either.
The map we're playing on is a blend of elements from the various CCG build challenge entries you may have seen last month. It's a pretty cool map, though for the first few episodes I don't really wander around too much. I've never played a Minecraft CTF before and it's not really something I've seen a lot of video on, so I stuck mostly with defense for the first round.
To elaborate on that - I believe we had 15 lives for the first round, after which we were out. There's several roles you can play, which adjusts your loadout. Every now and then, a care package will drop on the battlefield, which will have gear that can let you cross-class to a certain extent.
There were two rounds that day, with a bit of a break between them while some tweaks were made to adjust the game balance a bit (such as switching potions to splash forms and nerfing some of the armor types as some roles were just a liiiitle OP). Don't worry - I get a bit more adventurous in the second round. ;)
I also owe you guys a huge apology for the audio on this one. I was trying out a new wireless headset for recording -- on which I can now say the mic sounds awful -- which resulted in Discord voice chat having the volume of a faint whisper of a wind. I've tried to compensate as much as possible, but to do so I've had manually cut out every time I speak to crank the volume back down. Unfortunately... trying to fix this problem then resulted in WORSE issues for the UHC I was recording the next day...
Said headset has been officially sacked from use for gaming purposes. I'd return the thing but it's still useful for Discord chat on the other computer at least.
