The good news: It's UHC time, I've been teamed up with Geckor, Aubital, and _TheEndless_ so we have a solid team, and we've started in a swamp - my favorite starting locale!

The bad news: A brand new headset ate my mic audio. (For more on that, skip to the end of the description.)

So as with any UHC, there's a twist and this one is that we all have haste applied. Faster mining, faster weapon hits.

Now I know what you're thinking -- you've got Geckor on your team, you've probably already won this. Well, remember that we do have other PvP experts in the field, so victory is by no means assured.

Now, about this headset... it's a brand new wireless headset I picked up which does a fantastic job with the sound reaching my ears. Somehow though the microphone audio -- which recorded fine in multiple tests -- blew out to ungodly levels so that you could hear me just fine but the game and Discord chat were barely there... and the microphone's audio quality was horrendous. Seriously, for a Logitech mic with noise cancelling, I wasn't expecting to sound like I had been inhaling helium. (No bass at all.) Meanwhile, the game sounds and TS/Discord come across as being more "volumous" than usual -- bass is jacked way up and there's almost no treble. Le sigh.

So when it was time to record the UHC, I decided to go back to my webcam mic, which does a great job at picking up the full audio spectrum... but also picks up my keyboard and speaker audio, which results in mic recording volume dropping from OBS compensating for hearing the game audio over the mic... unless I wear a headset, and none of the ones I have are comfortable to wear for very long stretches.

So after the botched recording, I compromised and routed output through the headset but mic on the webcam. And OBS was set to obey what I was selecting as my default recording method in Windows. And yet... somehow it utterly cut out. It's not even a case of accidentally having OBS muted - I checked after I found out the recording was b0rked and it wasn't muted at all.

Nice headset. VERY comfortable on my head, which is hard to find any that are (I can't STAND earbuds), and no cables... but at this point it has been officially removed from gaming rig duty and demoted to Discord duties on the other PC. ::sigh:: So please accept my apologies, recordings should be back to normal after this.
