Welcome to Captain Chang Plays... Starfleet Command, Gorn Campaign.

For those of you who can't seem to remember, Captain Kirk fought the Gorn in the episode "Arena".

And they are a full race with their own ships and everything in Star Fleet Battles, and therefore, Starfleet Command as well.

Gorn ships in SFC tend to be blocky, a bit hard to turn, slow, kinda like themselves, but strong and can take a beating. They use plasma torpedos, like the Romulans, but they don't cloak. They tend to just come straight at you, but if you dodge aside their torpedoes can often track you due to good side firing arcs.

Anyway, let's go through the Gorn Command Academy's lessons on how to use Plasma Torpedoes... Where we get to beat up on some simulated enemies, such as some harmless freighters, to a simulated Romulan War Eagle with a big plasma R torp.

Now that we got that, we were assigned to a destroyer, which has one G-torp and some phasers. We need to go face off against some pirates.

We went to red alert, charged up 1 pt of ECM, and charged the tractor to strength 2. With all weapons armed, we charged the enemy.

This pirate was also armed with a plasma torp, a smaller type F, so it barely hurt us. I fired back, then my tractor grabbed him, and I launched both suicide shuttles, and went to speed zero. But this guy is pretty smart. He beamed out a transporter bomb that destroyed both suicide shuttles and even hurt my shield. I launched 2 regular shuttles with orders to attack (note: they default to "defend me") and they flew around the enemy adding a phaser 3 shot periodically. I also underloaded my torpedo to F so I can get to shoot faster, as well as ordered a marine raid on his torpedo. Soon he went "poof".

I got enough here that I traded my DD plus to a DDL (destroyer leader) with 2 extra small F torps. I added several veteran officers to my crew, then requested a new mission.

Then we are ordered to escort a convoy. And sure enough, two small raiders come barrelling in from my "right". I killed the first by firing all of my torpedoes, despite one of the torpedoes going rogue. We turned back and started to engage the other enemy, and through a bit of persistence, repair, hit-and-run raid, and more underloading we destroyed that ship.

We saved the convoy, and that'll be end for tonight. Please stay tuned for more updates!
