(CCPlays) Starfleet Command | Klingon Campaign 16 Praxis | Final | Let's Play
Welcome to Captain Chang Plays... Starfleet Command, Klingon Campaign!
Previously, we were able to capture Kraa who somehow was able to control ships from other polities to do his bidding. We had to kill rogue Feds, Lyrans, and Hydrans, as well as Klingons. We thought we solved part of the problem, but it seems the problem had found us instead...
Mission: Praxis (final)
Briefing: The ghosts have managed to open a wormhole to our home system, and took over Praxis, the moon over Q'no'S, and the battlestation there, and a fleet of possessed ships had arrived through the wormhole to protect it. Soon they will threaten our homeworld. But in Klingon history, no enemy had invaded our home system and lived to tell about it. Here are some psychic disruptors that will protect your ship against their influence. Here is an extra one for you to drop on Praxis with your transporter, which should stop them. You'll also need to destroy all those intruder ships. Qapla!
NOTE: Instead of boring you with my various failed attempts, I'll only show you the successful one.
We dropped out of warp near Q'no'S, and there is a starbase there. While their loyalty cannot be completely ascertained, we had no choice but to trust them, and we approached them. They did not fire on us. Which is good.
NOTE: In my guide written a long time ago, I wrote that they fired on me. This did not happen at the Captain's level.
I ordered my two companion ships to stay in formation, but they suddenly increased to maximum tactical speed and went forward to engage the two Hydran "Ranger"-class light cruisers and their Stringer fighters, which are approaching us albeit at a sedate speed. My repeated orders for them to pull back were ignored. By the time I got there at a more sensible speed, they were both destroyed. At least they got rid of all the Stinger fighters for me.
I started to pull back from the closest Hydran ship and was able to lure him into my 4-missile salvo as well as my scatter pack of 6 slow missiles, so it suffered serious damage, dropping to speed 8 and fell behind the other ship. I then repeated the performance on the other Hydran ship, crippling it as well. Then with another two passes, both are destroyed with no damage to myself.
I then approached the moon, but before I can get close enough to drop off the psychic disrupter the three cruisers there turned to engage me, with the Federation cruiser in the lead, followed closely by the Klingon and the Lyran cruisers. I turned back toward the friendly starbase, while keep firing the missiles 4 at a time, and sped up to keep ahead of them, and they are punching through the Fed's shields, as he got slower and slower. He tried a couple photon torpedoes, but I had ECM up and reinforced rear shields, so they did no damage. He tried to speed up, but I sped up too. Soon he fell behind, so I switched targets to the Klingon cruiser, and kept ahead of it as well, while I kept firing.
Soon, we got in range of the starbase, and it started firing on the intruders. A volley of phaser-4s, disruptors, AND a full salvo of 8 missiles went out, along with my own salvo of 4. The Klingon cruiser blew up.
Then the Lyran cruiser quickly followed.
As the Federation cruiser limped into range, it met the same fate.
I then went back to Praxis and dropped off the psychic disruptor. We did it! We saved Q'no'S!
And that is the end of the Klingon campaign, folks.
Stay tuned for more Starfleet Command, as we attempt the campaign for the other races! And stay tuned as I play various other games as well!
