CDP: Solfachord Post-DOOD, with a Drytron Engine
Run through your scales before the Solfachord Symphony!
-------------------------
Welcome back to another musically inclined CDP, and I am here to extole the virtues of the new Solfachord support cards. The Solfachord theme has been relatively undervalued since release, consisting of Pendulum monsters of various levels and Pendulum scales that just happen to do a lot of cool things. For example, DoSolfachord Cutia searches any Solfachord Pendulum on summon, and LaSolfachord Angelia can tribute any Solfachord monster to Special Summon another from the deck whose Pendulum Scale is 2 higher or lower. The theme is led by both DoSolfachord Coolia in the main deck, offering negation and destruction, and the LINK-3 GrandSolfachord Coolia in the Extra Deck, offering negation, power, and protection. Where this theme has struggled is building to a win condition, and they certainly have that now with the new wave of support.
Starting off with the best and brightest, we have Solfachord Primoria, a new Level 1 and Scale 0. On Summon, Primoria tutors any Solfachord card, then when you Link Summon a Solfachord, it recovers any Solfachord card from the GY or Extra Deck. These effects primarily combine with Solfachord Happiness, a Normal Spell that does it all because it has 3 very powerful effects. The first tutors 2 Solfachord Pendulums then immediately Special Summons Solfachord monster(s) from your hand. The second gives you an additional Solfachord Pendulum Summon later in the turn, and the third summons both of your Solfachord Pendulum Scales. You can use each effect per turn, so recycling Happiness with Primoria really is your key to success. As for the last new card, they've introduced Solfachord Solfeggia, a Level 2 that can Special Summon itself from the hand, and Special another Solfachord from the hand. If you put it into the Pendulum Scale instead, it also offers another negate of its own, giving the deck a third in-theme monster negate... if you're counting!
As you'll see in the replays - it isn't just the Solfachord monsters that make the deck scary, it is everything else you can make with them. For example, combining 2 of your Level 1 Solfachord monsters lets you make Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir, which ultimately results in 2 additional monsters and a monster pop, due to the effects of Drytron Nu II and Ultimate Bright Knight Ursatron Alpha. Throw that in with the spamminess of Solfachords and you can quickly amass a nigh-unbreakable board of Link Monsters... or just choose to build a U-LINK for fun. Because this deck can. Embrace the joys of hitting all the right notes, as you listen to the sweet, sweet harmonies of the Solfachord theme!
