CDP: Megalith Onomato Utopia with Tachyon, ft. DOOD Support
Rituals and Xyz Summoning, such an underutilized combination.
-------------------------
Today's CDP features the return of two legacy themes to my channel, both of which have been fully revitalized with new support! First up is the Megalith Ritual archetype, consisting of Rock Ritual monsters that don't feel the need to use a Ritual Spell, since each of their monsters includes an effect to Ritual Summon! With Megalith Portal, Megalith Emergence, and Megalith Phul recovering Megalith monsters from your GY, this deck already had a great grind game, but add in the new Megalith Phuloch, and it gets even better. This new Level 4 Ritual recovers a Megalith card from the GY on Rtiual Summon, and it carries a Quick Effect to Ritual Summon a Megalith from your GY. These two effects are absolutely amazing for the deck, but they're even better when combined with their new Level 12 Ritual Boss, Megalith Nortra Phulra! Not only does this add an omni-negate to your arsenal, but it also prevents the opponent from activating cards/effects when a Megalith's effect is activated. All they need is another form of additional consistency, and yup, they got that too in Megalith Anastasis! This new Continuous Spell tutors you both a Level 4 or lower Megalith and a Level 8 or higher, at the small cost of a discard. Then, when you Ritual Summon, it lets you elect to Draw 2 then discard 1, or Tribute a monster the opponent controls.
While all of these new cards are clearly everything for the Megalith strategy, the Onomato engine released in Duelists Advance is quite the perfect pairing. Offering tons of Level 4 monsters to use as Xyz Material, the Onomato engine starts with Gogogo Goblindbergh and can run through Gallant Granite, Gagagaga Girl, Xyz Armor Fortress, and Galaxy Photon Dragon uninterrupted, giving you at 1-2 free searches from each Xyz in the chain. With Number F0: Utopic Future Zexal guarding your endboard, Full-Armored Xyz ready to drop a Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir, and Eclipse Twins as a backup plan, this engine gives the Megalith deck everything it needed - and that's before you add in the extra Dodododo Warrior the Megaliths can use to Ritual Summon their bigger threats! What else can be used as extra Tribute fodder? The Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Primal you tutored during the combo of course, since that also grabs you Seventh Tachyon to search any Level 4 Megalith by revealing Number 106: Giant Hand!
