If you are at all familiar with my channel then you are likely aware that I consider Ceave's "The Very Varying Tower" to be among the most fascinating and replayable levels yet made in Super Mario Maker 2, and featured it in two previous videos on my channel (showcasing three and six full consecutive playthroughs, respectively). Given the amount of time that I am spending at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to return to this iconic Mario rougelike for an extra-long, uncut video demonstrating nearly all of the diverse content that it contains (although the room with multiple firebars was never accessible, as the odds of getting it are near zero). I wasn't sure when to end the video--in my head, I was torn between 30 minutes and 1 hour, and decided after about 45 minutes that it was time to wrap it up because going beyond that point most likely would have been subject to diminishing returns.

You can call it self-indulgent if you would like, and I'm not saying that this video is for everyone, but it is a fairly comprehensive record of the types of room/enemy/power-up combinations that are incorporated into Ceave's design. There are things here that even viewers of my previous two videos have not seen, such as clearing rooms of moles/magikoopas with the fireflower at 14:25 and 43:26 respectively and using a spiny shellmet to bypass a timer at 31:39, but more essential to optimizing each run are the voluminous back-up strats such as hiding in dry bone's shell (as I do at 34:58) if one is feeling cornered by bullet bills, knowing how to proceed cautiously and draw all of the projectile fire to one area at a time during the magikoopa section, and (of course) maintaining a balanced seesaw while fighting Bowser Jr. Finally, this video will show you how to cheat and get a second minigame in one playthrough under certain circumstances; I was reluctant to exploit said cheese, which Ceave could have presumably rectified with another set of one-ways, but did so in an attempt (not very successful, I might add) to increase the amount of gameplay variation captured during this recording.
