❚Celeste❙Chapter 9D 100% ❰The Final Screen❱❚
By far the hardest screen in 9D and harder than any of the goldens I've done. Also one of the most troll-filled screens ever, two hidden checkpoints, the first one at 4:20 is a forced demodash into a death, the second one at 8:14 is a forced fall into death. The camera in the second part is intentionally horrible and it's very easy to get lost there.

The first part is pretty good but quite long, and that Jellyfish section is very awkward. The second part is intentionally bad with the hidden checkpoints and garbage camera. After the second checkpoint, if instead of falling you touch the spikes there, you actually lose all of your progress and get sent back to the beginning. This screen is designed to be complete hell, especially on a blind playthrough. It's not as bad once you have consistent strategies and get good at everything, but the first section is pretty hard to get consistent at, while in the second one you are forced to do many blind jumps. I also failed the demodash once because they changed the setup from the old static one by forcing you to do it from a moving block and I wasn't expecting to fail it. Also got sent back to the beginning once because of the spikes at the end, very nice. To be honest, I think this is one of the worst screens, because so many bad trolls on an already difficult screen are not good. That being said, I don't hate this screen, I think that many of the parts are interesting and the first part I thought was really good. However, many of the trolls are designed to just waste your time and I don't think that's how it should have been.
Overall, though, I would say that many of the screens in the chapter are quite good, and if you don't want to spend time doing the entire chapter, then I would recommend playing individual parts that you like, because there are plenty of creative and interesting screens in 9D. I will also merge all of the existing parts into one playthrough video soon, so look forward to that.
The D-Sides are a mod, which introduces new levels that are basically A-Side length, but harder than the actual C-Sides. This type of gameplay reminds me somewhat of IWBTG fangames, and it's really fun. Each level is really well done and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a more precision based challenge, rather than an endurance one like the Golden Strawberries.

Celeste is an overall pretty great platformer, although I would have preferred if there was less cycle memorization because of all the different moving enemies, spikes, platforms etc... throughout the game. And some of the gimmicks were worse than others. Other than that, the controls are great, the graphics are great, the music is good, the gameplay varies from chapter to chapter, there's easier levels and there's harder ones, the difficulty scales well, and there's plenty of challenges to do, especially if you want to get 200 berries.
