Most homes in the area have Central Air Conditioners. You might recognize the brand names of these units that are considered conventional. Names like Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Bryant, American Standard, Ruud, York, and Goodman.
This means you have an indoor air handler, or a gas furnace, and an outdoor heat pump or air conditioner. The indoor unit is connected to ductwork in the attic or under the house, and delivers air to all of the rooms at once - which is why it’s called central-air conditioning.
Systems like this have a thermostat on the wall where you can turn the system on and off.
