CFTC Says Ethereum Is Commodity
0While addressing at a conference on Oct. 24, Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Rostin Behnam underlined that Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, is a commodity, according to Fortune. At the same time, Gensler has frequently acknowledged Bitcoin as a commodity, implying that the world's largest cryptocurrency is not subject to SEC regulation. Behnam has dismissed the notion that the CFTC will be more lenient on cryptocurrency, arguing that the agency's enforcement record speaks for itself.
