Heavy Nova review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Heavy Nova for the SEGA Genesis developed by Holocronet and published by Micronet.

Ready to play with some dolls? No, seriously, the robots in this game are called “dolls,” one of many questionable decisions in Heavy Nova. This 2D fighter is actually a bit of a hybrid—before engaging in its fights, players must make their way through short platforming stages. Doing so with Heavy Nova’s controls is easier said than done, but at least it’s an interesting concept. Heavy Nova pits various robots against each other in a battle to the death. The game’s controls are very slow, perhaps the emulate the movements of an actual robot. Or perhaps the legends are true and this game just isn’t very good. Heavy Nova features single-player and local multiplayer play on the SEGA Genesis.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Heavy Nova for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
