Alone in the Dark is the original survival horror series. Taking place on Shadow Island, you play as either one of two characters as you attempt to solve the mystery and escape. Like most survival horror games, you will be fighting enemies and solving puzzles. The interesting thing is how they broke this up, with one character's campaign being about combat and the other about solving puzzles. And all this takes place in a creepy mansion that is surrounded by darkness. It is a good and scary game that signals the return of a great of the genre.
