Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game accessory review of the Game Genie for the Nintendo Entertainment System, from Galoob and Codemasters. The first product to claim the ability to "enhance" video games, this was the first Game Genie device produced for the NES, and was later released for other consoles like the Game Boy, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Game Gear. By temporarily altering the binary codes of your game cartridges, you could modify your gaming experience with things like unlimited lives, unusual powers, or plenty of other strange glitches. When first released, Nintendo sued Galoob for copyright infringement, but Game Genie won the legal battle and was able to keep producing these unique accessories.
