Sword of Vermilion Review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRUndertow review of Sword of Vermilion, developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. Although this game promised to "do what Nintendon't," it's likely gamers will reminisce about Final Fantasy III or Secret of Mana more than they will about Sword of Vermilion. You control the hero of Vermilion as he fights to avenge his father King Erik V of Excalabria against the loathsome King Tsarkon and his minions through a maze-like world of monsters, villages, and dungeons.
