One day, Sonic decided to invent to sport of "Looping", or going through as many loops as possible at really high speeds, and the loops are close together on a flat surface.
No rings are to be collected, but powerup monitors are still existent, and allowed.

Shadow, being the Anti-Sonic he is, made a sport named "Un-Looping". To un-loop, you must go over the loops, and they're all spaced far apart, in a hilly area. And, at least 21 rings must be collected to the un-looper loses the contest. No monitors are allowed either.

Knuckles decides to partake in un-looping on his island just when Eggman/Robotnik attacks. Knuckles decides to challenge himself, since he's pretty good at un-looping. He gives himself a no-hit restriction... and then Eggman/Robotnik's robots start after him!
