I got a chipped front tooth
From biting my nails
I don't have any cavities though
There's a soft breeze blowing
Wind for my sails
And it smells like something new
There's a study just published
That nostalgia is good for you
That it can make you less bored
less stressed and less lonely
If that's true then I'm probably
Doing all right
Cause last week is the good 'ol days to me

But change is hard
An empty room catches you off guard
All the mindfulness of impermanence
Doesn't take the sting away

And you rebuild things brick by brick
But the sun beats down and you're sure that you

The way they were
My hair grows quick
My beard grows quicker
My widows peak gets higher
I don't have time
And when I do
I just want to play video games
In the morning I wake up
And I look at my phone
I know I shouldn't do it
But I just can't resist
What if something big happened while I was sleeping?
What kind of crazy and exciting things have I missed?
Caught between the place where I'm supposed to be
And wherever it is I'm going
Carry the rock straight up the hill
Then carry it up again
This is the line that I'm toeing
I try really really hard
To tell the truth
But then I end up lying to myself
It's a theory I have
And I'm seeking out proof
Picking flowers and gathering stones
