Changing PSU can eliminate GPU coil whine - NZXT C650
I upgraded to this PSU for using my old PSU in another PC. The main intention of this video was just a simple unboxing.
But I noticed something more.
A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to an RTX 3060 Ti from RTX 3060 (video in my channel) and I noticed the new MSI RTX 3060 Ti was whining from coil resonance in inductors. As itβs mostly a very common thing I just overlooked that matter.
Now after changing the PSU, when I turned on the PC and get into a game, I noticed something different, which is no coil whine from the RIG!
I went back to install the Cooler Master PSU and recorded the part with coil whine.
Just for you guys :)
***That doesn't mean Cooler master PSU is bad or had any issue. I am using the same PSU in my other RIG with other RTX 3000, no Whining at all. The key is the perfect pairing. Some GPU & PSU can be very suitable with each other and some won't. Maybe for you, NZXT PSU can give coil whine, and that's basically how electronics works. So just don't be hurry to change your PSU, it may not make any changes and lead you to money waste. I just shared my experience and yes it did work for me. Coil Whine is completely eliminated and I ended up with a much quieter system under load :)
