Okay TL;DR, the DMCA is an outdated relic of the 90s that needs to be overhauled so YouTube can fix their broken strike system. The petition at the top of this description is the easiest way to make your voice heard.

Why do I care? Well I've been taking a back seat on this, as I don't use the Fair Use clauses of copyright law. I don't need to because my videos are 100% my own work, and the music I use with permission from the people who wrote and produced it - they're total bros, by the way, thanks Counterwise and Synthis.
But despite this, when I was idly checking my old videos on my personal channel, I noticed one of them had a strike against it. It was the pilot episode for Let's Fix Computers no less, and it allegedly contained music from a bunch of copyright people. The video contains no music at all. It's me filming on my laptop's shitty webcam, before I'd learnt how to speak publicly.

I don't care much about this strike because it's not damaging my main channel, but on principle it proves that however safe I think I am from Content ID and the Strike System, apparently I'm not.
