Chapter 1-3 Walkthrough - Resident Evil 4 (Professional) 100% Walkthrough
Chapter 1-3 has 7 Spinels, a Ruby, an Elegant Headdress, a Green Catseye, an Antique Pipe, a Gold Bangle, & 7 Blue Medallions.
Inside Mendez House (0:00):
If you go back into the room you just came from you can get an optional cutscene. Grab the goodies in the house. If you can't carry some it's okay as there are some enemies to waste stuff on outside. There is also a Typewriter in here.
Outside (0:54):
Immediately outside is a Chainsaw & 2 Ganados. Kill these guys however you want, but keep in mind that 1 is a thrower. Dr. Salvador will drop a Ruby. Passed these guys is Spinel #1 in a Bird's Nest. Further down the path are more Ganados & a couple goodies.
Back in the Village (3:27):
Kill the several Ganados that come running to you (making them bottle neck up the path then Shotguning them works well). When the enemies stop coming kill the 2 that are on the Shotgun House's roof then go into the Insignia building.
Inside Insignia House/Cave (5:15):
Grab the goodies in the room with the Typewriter. In next room shoot the oil lantern to get Spinel #2. Down in the cave shoot the 2nd oil lantern to reveal the Elegant Headdress & Spinels #3 & 4 on the ceiling. At the Merchant sell the treasure you have & buy anything you want. The only new upgrades are for the TMP.
Graveyard (6:38):
Shoot the Bird's Nest in the tree immediately outside the crypt to get a Hand Grenade. Kill the 3 crows from the Graveyard entrance (which will alert the village woman in the shack). Kill her as well as the man farther up the trail who is likely now alerted to your presence.
Blue Medallion #1 is in a tree to the left of (if facing) the shack.
Blue Medallion #2 is in a tree in front of the shack.
Blue Medallion #3 is in a tree farther into the graveyard.
Kill the Ganados near the Church. Shoot the Bird's Nest in the tree near the Church for an Incendiary Grenade. If you'd like you can shoot the Church bell to get more Ganados to spawn from the cave you came from or the bridges in pairs of 3 (this seems to only works 2 or 3 times).
Blue Medallion #4 is near the front left of the Church.
Blue Medallion #5 is hanging off the back of the Church.
One solution to the pedestal puzzle is 3,3,3,4,4,4,3. Your reward will be the Green Catseye which you should combine with the Beerstain.
Continue down to the bridges where there are more enemies. The final 3 Blue Medallions are on this bridge as well. In the shack there are a couple crates, but 1 of them has a snake in it so be careful. The Closure of the Church document is in the shack as well.
Murder of Crows Area (10:55):
If you have one then use a Flash Grenade on the murder of crows to get some money & a Flash Grenade. If you don't have a Flash Grenade then shoot the middle crow (who will drop one), grab it, leave the area, then come back to find the crows have returned. Use the Flash Grenade that you just got for the other crows' goodies.
Spinel #5 is sitting on the rocks in the wagon to the left.
Spinel #6 is in one of the shacks.
Merchant Docking Area (11:53):
If you collected all 15 Blue Medallions then you can claim your free Punisher now. I stick with the regular Handgun for the whole game so I sell the Punisher immediately.
Water/Snake Area (13:10):
After the boulder QTE turn around & back up a tad to shoot down Spinel #7 above you.
Down by the water, use the Shotgun when there are lots of enemies & use the TNT traps to your advantage. If you wish to kill any snakes in this area they should be killed with the knife as shooting them is a waste of ammo. Once the area is clear of enemies go around collecting the goodies including the Antique Pipe in the Bird's Nest in the tree by the bench.
Lake Area (18:35):
Go up the left path & get the Red Herb (step to the right of the herb to get an optional cutscene). Go a little way on the right path & shoot the Bird's Nest to get the Gold Bangle. There is a Typewriter in the 2nd Shack. Go into the boat & head anywhere to initiate the Del Lago boss fight.
Del Lago fight (19:57):
I'm sorry to say that I don't really have much advice for Del Lago because the controls are pretty poop during this part. When dodging Del Lago or the floating trees it's generally a good idea to pick a direction & stick with it rather than turning a different direction midway. During the parts where Del Lago charges the boat, so long as you hit him once he will swim under you. If you don't hit him then he'll knock you out & you'll have to swim back before he gets you. Additionally the more times he knocks you out the further away from the boat you'll be. Just keep wailing on him with the harpoons until he is dead. Once he is there'll be another QTE before the fight is truly over.
