Charlotte Le Bon spoke with interviewer: Alexandra Heilbron in Toronto about what she did that caught Stephen Spielberg's eye and eventually landed her a role in 'The Hundred-Foot Journey.' The Montreal-born actress also talked about how she wound up living and working in France.

The Hundred-Foot Journey movie synopsis:

The Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri), moves from their native India and settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Picturesque and charming, it is a perfect place to settle down and where they can open an Indian restaurant, the Maison Mumbai, featuring Hassan Kadam's (Manish Dayal) culinary perfection.

That is, until Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin-starred, classical French restaurant, gets wind of it. She protests the existence of a new Indian restaurant one hundred feet from her own. As the clash between the two establishments escalates, Hassan falls for Madame Mallory’s enchanting sous chef, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon).

Based on the novel "The Hundred-Foot Journey" by Richard C. Morais.

Starring: Helen Mirren, Charlotte Le Bon, Juhi Chawla, Om Puri, Rohan Chand
