In the dead of night a fierce storm rages across North Wales. Miles from any town, Chris Selwood seeks refuge in a remote roadside café. Shortly thereafter Chris experiences a horrific sight as he finds the café waitress pinned to the ceiling by something with fierce glowing eyes, he passes out waking up to the dusty old abandoned remains of the café.
Explore the untouched wilderness of rural Wales as you uncover the forgotten remains of a mysterious facility and try to piece together what happened to the missing villagers of Hearth.
Inspired by 80s Sci-Fi horror and contemporary surrealist cinema, Chasing Static delivers a unique take on the narrative adventure genre through new audio driven gameplay mechanics and non-linear exploration.
Modern Horror Gaming : "When I first tried Chasing Static in the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc 2021, it stuck out as one of the games I planned on buying as soon as it was complete. This in my opinion is a perfect example of how to make a narrative horror game in first person. Alot of horror games will try to do narrative as second to key findings and jumpscares, and alot of times its boring. Games like Bioshock and Deadspace were able to tell an intriguing story while still keeping pace , the way they did that was through visual and audio logs. This takes alot more time and patience to create a living story through these methods, but we get indie games like Chasing Static that proves horror narration can be exciting through the entire playthrough. Games like Chasing Static are why the term walking simulator needs to be done away with completely. Things like First Person Horror Thriller sounds a lot more fun and fitting. 10/10 I loved this game."
