Marvel just can't let Ben Reilly have a single win, huh? Even during the events of Spider-Man Beyond, where true believers like myself were duped into believing that everyone's favorite scarlet wallcrawler would finally get back on track after his disastrous reentry into Spidey comics thanks to Dan Slott, his character was once again tossed down into the villain role.

Spider-Man comics just aren't what they used to be, and I wish that weren't the case. Why are writers like Zeb Wells given characters like Ben Reilly just to toss him in the trash - when a writer like the prolific J. M. Dematteis has actually written the blonde webhead with actual care and grace in recent years?

Marvel's decision making for Spider-Man truly does not make any sense to me anymore.
