Player 1: Vic Viper
Vic Viper (ビックバイパー Bikku Baipā?) is a recurring character in the Parodius series, appearing in all games. He is based on the titular starfighter from the Gradius series. Vic Viper would later be joined by Lord British, also based on the eponymous Gradius starfighter.
Player 2: Lord Brtish
Lord British (ロードブリティッシュ Rōdo Buritisshu?), also known as Lord. B or Road British (the latter as a result of romanization), is a recurring spaceship fighter appearing in the Gradius series. It made its debut in the arcade version of Salamander (1986), acting as the designed fighter ship for Player 2. It features red streaks instead of characteristic blue ones from Vic Viper, and it's in the shape of a jet. He also become Sentient version in Parodius as Second Player of Vic Viper.

Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius (実況おしゃべりパロディウス?, lit. "Chatting Parodius Live!") is the fourth game in a series of parody shooters produced by Konami. The gameplay is stylistically very similar to the Gradius series, but the graphics and music are intentionally absurd. The game, as its name would suggest, contains a large amount of Japanese voice samples shouted out in a style similar to that of a game show host. Unlike the previous two titles, Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius was not created as an arcade game. It was first released on the Super Famicom in 1995 and then ported and updated for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn as Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius ~forever with me~ in 1996.
