Checking out Ray Traced Quake 1! Episode 1 Playthrough!
20This was released a few days ago, and it's a fork of vkQuake with ray tracing support created by sultim-t (same guy who also added ray tracing to Doom and Serious Sam)! I check it out with Ryman in the call as cheerleader!

I mention I play on Easy but looking back at the footage, it's pretty apparent I very much walked through the Normal portal.
I looked through some assets for this version of the game after the recording, and I find it's set up in a similar way as Doom with ray tracing. There are files that define custom light positions for each level. That makes me think this won't work with expansions or user maps without additional work done.
