I saw this game day before this stream and said "oh crap, someone made a Zelda Maker. As a Mario Maker streamer I ought to check this out" and that's what this stream is. Me checking out Super Dungeon Maker, and indie Zelda Maker which, you find out when you actually launch the thing, is still in beta? It doesn't say it's in beta on the store page but given the paltry selection of items and enemies you can put in dungeons it makes sense that they'd want to put that disclaimer in there.

During this stream I play through a couple tutorials, then a couple of dungeons from the internet and then try my hand at making my own before glitches put a stop to that. On some level this game is exactly what it sets out to be, a maker that lets you make (very basic) Zelda dungeons. However, playing this makes me think perhaps there's a reason Nintendo hasn't made this themselves - Mario levels are like a couple minutes long, Zelda dungeons on the other hand are a half hour minimum. Additionally Zelda dungeons are built around their key items, and it'd be weird to play multiple dungeons built around the same items even if there were a lot of them in theory.

In Super Dungeon Maker there's like 5 items. Imagine playing multiple dungeons in a row all of which are built around the hookshot and also feature the same miniboss because the other two are a bit crap. That's the Super Dungeon Maker experience!
