Checking Out The FFVII Remake Demo | PS4
0So I didn't go into much detail about what I thought about the game as muc has I had planned to so I'll just write it here for those who care, at least the short as I can make it version..
- The combat is batter than 15. I did not care much for the way the battles and magic system were in that. The stopping everything to access the menu is nice, but needing ATB to use a potion does kind of stuck if in a tight bind but I suppose it makes sense why you'd need it..
- Didn't like it but maybe that'll change but AI struggled to get ATB up. At least in this demo, whoever I wasn't playing took forever before I could give a command, but if I played at them in matter of seconds I'd have both gauges filled and ready to go.. I get it for not being to easy they shouldn't and to make you change around, but at times felt a little annoying but it does work well for a mix up the characters and put it all together in combat.
- I miss turn based combat, I know it's a little outdated nowadays even though DQ11 was really fun for a modern turn based game. This is still good, but can't help personally wanted actual turn based combat but oh well.
- I sort of get the whole split the game into parts, and making them 30-45+ hour parts, or at least this is what I been hearing, but it does suck to have to pay over 60 for every part, but if the game is done right then I guess it can be gotten away with, especially for the die hard FFVII fans and the parts may release so spaced apart that it can also be gotten away with.
- I haven't read up what is still in the game and removed, but the demo does not show materia (since it was still real early in the game) but I hope we still have that similar system mixed with different weapons and such like the classic, I do not know how crazy close they are going to keep that stuff be cool but understandable if needed to be tweaked or removed due to modernizing the game. (I also just want to see the looks of the different weapons.)
Overall it sounds like I complain about stupid crap and am stuck back in the 90s with wanting the game way to similar. But at the same time there is a lot of promise and enjoyment to still be had with this, and with a slight adjustment to my mindset I can be pretty into it, and I already plan to stream/record it for when it is released. So can't wait to relive a part of the story that I had only recently went through not to long ago, but in a batter more cinematic way.
