This is the Police 2 is a mixture of interactive story, strategy, management, and tactical.

The game play is fun, it's like an RPG with the Police Station as your character but it has one major problem, the story. It just drags on too much. In the first hour and four minutes, apart from 11 minutes of tactical tutorial, it was all this poorly told, hard to follow, slightly interactive story. If it was a movie, most of it would end up on the cutting room floor to speed things up and this is a game, it's supposed to be about action! It's not necessarily a bad tale it just needs to be more concise and the only reason I didn't down vote the game over it is because there is the option to skip most of it. So if you get the game just hang in there until all the rubbish is over and it gets good.

Anyway, after the hour of story the game finally begins and the game play is quite fun. You need to manage the police station and it's personnel so that it is effective and in turn you can buy and earn upgrades. It's a very interesting station simulator that takes into account the human, let's call it "problem," that seems so prevalent in law enforcement these days. Unfortunately though, in the two hours and ten minutes I played the game in total the only tactical call out I got was the tutorial. You can jump to it at the quick link below. This is where a lot of your officers upgrades from their day to day duties can be used. It's a very different type of play than the station management and it's a shame there isn't more of it but all things considered I liked all the game play and will recommend the game due to these aspects.

Another attractive element is the price. It's only $15 as a new release so it really good value.
