Soft key 1 - pause menu;
Softkey2 - Items, Mission;
2, 4, 8, 6 - move cursor up, down, left, right;
1,3,6,9 - move cursor diagonally;

Items:
REINFORCEMENT - 1 additional figure is placed in one of the four center squares;
REINCARNATION - 1 previously captured figure is reincarnated in a center field;
TIME MACHINE: Undoes the last move;
DIVINE MOVE: Indicates the best move.

2) Pieces:
Pawn - can only move forward (first move = 1 or 2 squares. 1 square starting with second move). It can only capture a piece if it is within one square of it diagonally.
Knight - moves in an L- shape path (2+1 or 1+2 squares). It is the only piece that can hop over other pieces.
Bishop - can move to any square along its diagonals as long as its path is not blocked;
Rook - can move to any square vertically or horizontally as long as its path is not blocked. Can be used to protect the King through castling;
Queen - can move to any square in any direction as long as her path is not blocked;
King - can only move one square in any direction however, it can never move into check or onto a square where it can be captured by an opponents piece. Can be protected by the Rook using castling.

3) Terms:
Check - players call Check when a piece can capture the opposing King with the next move;
Checkmate - the King can no longer avoid being captured and will be defeated in the next move;
Stalemate - the King is not check and not other legal move is possible; Draw - Both Kings are the only remaining pieces on the board;
Castling - can only be used once per game. Cannot be used if the King is in check. The King and the Rook cannot moved yet. There cannot be any chess pieces or squares where a piece can be captured between the King and Rook. In order to use castling you must select the King and move two squares towards the Rook;
En Passant - A pawn that has moved two squares forward on its first move can be captured by an opponents pawn standing horizontally to it. The opponents pawn may capture the pawn "en Passant" (in passing) by moving diagonally and passing the other pawn;
Promotion - If a pawn is able to reach the 8th row or rank, it can then be promoted to another chess piece except the King (i.e., Queen, Bishop, Knight and Rook).
