Its spread makes it a neat choice for early game. It also has very low overheat. However,the fact that it spreads means that it will have a hard time dealing with enemies in late game. The exception to this would be the ice comets in chapter 8,and in ci4,in the supernova chapter,where it is one of the best weapons.(tied with photon swarm)
