Chocolate in Peril
Follow the history of cacao from its origins in the Amazon and the Aztecs and Mayas use of cacao beans to make chocolate drinks, to an agricultural terrorist act that devastated Brazil's cacao crop and the current battle between ants protecting cacao in West Africa. Drawing from the story of cacao in Professor of Applied Ecology at NC State University Rob Dunn's latest book Never Out of Season, this new exhibit presents a visual narrative of humanity's relationship with cacao and the threats this important crop now faces.
This visual story was produced by NCSU Libraries in collaboration with the Rob Dunn Lab for the iPearl Immersion Theater at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library at NC State.
