SOUL LINK RULES
1. Two players play through the different games of the same generation simultaneously. In this case Aurelius is playing Pokemon HeartGold, and Ethan is playing Pokemon SoulSilver.
2. Standard Nuzlocke Rules apply
a. The player may only catch the first wild Pokemon encountered in each area, and nothing else. If the first wild Pokemon encounter faints or flees, there are no second chances.
b. Any Pokemon that faints is considered DEAD and must be either released or put in the box forever.
c. The player may not reset and reload whenever things go wrong.
d. A blackout/whiteout is considered a "game over", even if there are usable Pokemon left in the boxes.
e. The player must nickname all of their Pokemon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
f. If you have already caught a Pokemon that would be considered your encounter for the route, you may encounter until you meet a new, uncaught Pokemon.
3. Encounters for players on each route are linked. If one player fails to catch their encounter for a route, the other player must box or release their encounter for that route as well. If both players are successful, these two Pokemon are "linked" as partners.
4. When one player's Pokemon faints, its partner on the other team must be boxed or released as well. If in the middle of battle, that Pokemon may not be used for the remainder of the battle.
5. If a Pokemon is placed in the PC, its partner on the other team must be placed in the PC as well.
6. No Pokemon on either team may share the same primary type. For example, player 1 can not have a Ludicolo if player 2 has a Seadra, but player 2 is allowed to have Shiftry on the team as long as it's pairing does not clash with another partner.
a. As a result of this rule, no pairing can share a type. If both Pokemon share a primary type, the person who encounters second must re-roll for a new encounter.
7. Players must alternate who encounters first.
