"There are few techno DJs and producers who've achieved as much as Chris Liebing. Back in 1993 after a record shopping spree at Downtown Records in Giessen, electronic music found its way into Liebing's life and once he opened his own nightclub called Spinclub the following year, it was game time.

As with most DJs, Liebing's musical style is one that's evolved and transformed over time but his dedication to pushing a solid techno sound is what's made him one of the best around. His first official release came almost 20 years ago back in 1997 and 'Dandu Groove' is a steely, uncompromising cut that acted as a statement of intent from the German powerhouse.

After a run of fierce releases on labels like Fine Audio Recordings and Primate, Chris founded CLR and this would take things to the next level. Now widely-regarded as one of the strongest techno imprints out there, CLR is mainly an outlet for Liebing's own music but he's also released tracks from Perc, Joseph Capriati, Hardcell and Lucy.

His first release on the label was the 'New Beginnings' EP and all three, untitled tracks broke the 140bpm mark, meaning if you like your techno hard, fast and unrelenting, Liebing was your guy.

His CLR podcasts are a force to be reckoned with as well and now they've taken on the form of a weekly 'AF//FM' show. This is where Chris uploads one of his favourite recorded sets from that week and puts it up without edits, without touches, just in its raw and unbridled form.

Nowadays Chris is a worldwide force to be reckoned with. His extensive global touring is seemingly never-ending, with a hectic schedule that sees him appear in every corner of the world. He held four residencies at Cocoon in Ibiza, played for Carl Cox at Space and laid down his killer selections all over Ibiza. It's probably easier to name where he hasn't played.

If you want to catch Chris at his finest this summer however, you'll have to drag yourself to Amnesia, where he's playing a long-run of dates at the club's new Wednesday night event HYTE. The line-ups include the likes of DJ Harvey, Loco Dice, Pan-Pot, Maceo Plex and more, so he's in good company.
