0Christmas Train Set with Remote Control REVISITED. Picked this one up in a charity shop in December 2016 and it needed a little work to get it working. Unfortunately I then decided to use larger batteries, which was fine but I left it switched on overnight and the next day it didn't work so I guessed I had fried the receiver. I did a quick modification to bypass the receiver and connect the batteries direct to the drive motor so it could run round our Christmas tree but didn't do a video of the conversion at the time. I recently had a question about where you put the oil for the smoke system so that prompted me to get it down from the loft for another viewing.

The box had no useful information but the train has the Goldlok name stamped on the bottom. I checked the Goldlok site and although they still supply several versions of this train they did not appear to have a downloadable manual. I then spotted a similar looking train kit by MOTA and on their site I was able to download the manual for that one.
